History: Brave offered this - optionally - in its Muon version. Since the end of 2018 (with Brave’s v0.57), Brave has been built on ‘de-Googled’ Chromium and Brave stopped offering this option - which, as other comments note - is available in other browsers.
I’ve been a long-time advocate of minimizing extensions - they’re security risks - but Tabs to Front is one of the few extensions I’ve installed.
I use the extension Bookmark Sidebar to open bookmarks in the new tab by default.
I want the feature opening url/search typing in address bar in the new tab by default. For example, add a setting allows users to toggle ‘Open Address Bar results in a new tab’ by default and open in current tab by Alt+Enter. I don’t imagine this would be a high-complexity implementation, since https://github.com/Bush2021/chrome_plus is a tool for chrome to achieve it.
