Since it is been viewed over 15 times, I am sure someone knows how to do this???
In Brave, I want to know how to automatically turn on AI generated content. This used to work and now it does not. Since it is been viewed a number of times, I am sure someone knows how to do this???
It has been 10 days since my last post and I KNOW someone in the Brave Community knows how to do this?!?!?!?!
@fyrebalzzzz the problem is nobody knows what you’re talking about. You have not given any detailed description nor have you provided any details on things like what version of the browser you’re using, which operating system, etc.
Or if you really meant to put this about Brave Search even though you labeled this as a browser issue?
I mean the browser doesn’t really have much in terms of AI generated content. There is Leo if you wanted to talk to it, but something tells me that that’s not what you are referencing.
And you could be referring to AI generated content from some website or group of websites that you’re visiting, which really would have nothing to do with Brave but people sometimes come here asking for help anyway.
When people don’t provide much details and give vague questions, it makes it less appealing for other users like myself to respond. And I suppose it may be the same way for the people that Brave because they don’t know who it is that would have to help you or even what you need help with.
Just thought I would share so you could understand why it is likely that people were not responding.
And I guess this is just my way of trying to encourage you to provide good information so I or someone else can try to help you.
I got feed back from Saoiray that no one in the Brave community knows what I am talking about, so here goes…
The AI functionality in my Brave browser used to work before I had to reset Windows 11 PC due to an Excel issue. I am not quite sure how to fully describe it other than I am looking to turn on, each time I search in Brave, the automatic AI Bot each time I enter a search phrase. Each time I have to click the “generate” or whatever Brave calls it to get an AI generated answer. I find the AI answers very, very useful!!!
If there is anything else I need to add please feel free to ask questions. I enjoy questions because they make me think.
Hope this helps!!!
I really HOPE this additional information garners a usable response!
Are you talking about LEO AI?
If so, you can enable it in the Browser Settings → Leo (brave://settings/leo-ai)
If you want to enable AI/LEO in the Brave Search, you can do that in the settings on https://search.brave.com/ (“Answer with AI”)
Hope this helps, because otherwise I don’t know what you are talking about ![]()

Leo Assist is already on and in the the sidebar so this does not help. I guess at this point I will have to rely on someone else in the Brave community to respond. BTW, do you have any questions about what I provided in this post, “I got feed back from Saoiray that no one in the Brave community knows what I am talking about, so here goes…

Lemme know!!!

As I think I said already, this is not about LEO AI. What I said before is, “The AI functionality in my Brave browser used to work before I had to reset Windows 11 PC due to an Excel issue. I am not quite sure how to fully describe it other than I am looking to turn on, each time I search in Brave, the automatic AI Bot each time I enter a search phrase. @fyrebalzzzz Let me walk you through some of the complications here:
This is Leo, that’s the only AI functionality in the browser. So if you’re not talking about Leo, then stop this phrasing because it’s not about AI functionality of the browser but would be the settings or functionality of a website you’re using.
This phrasing is general enough that we have to make assumptions. When you say “search in Brave” that can mean the website Brave Search or it could be that you’re referring to another search engine or website you’re using. This is where it’s important for you to be as specific as you can.
Are you going to a website and searching or you talking about using the address bar to type something in? If searching via the address bar, what is your default search engine?
If you do mean Brave Search, that’s not true. Like when I have it enabled such as FuluBrulu mentioned, just typing in a search like why is the sky red? immediately triggered an AI response even though I didn’t choose to ask.
But not every question or search prompt will guarantee an AI answer. Like the notes on the toggle says, it will enable for some searches.
If you would like to use Brave Search as your default and want it to always generate an AI answer, you can add a custom site search.
Go to brave://settings/searchEngines and choose to Add
From there, you’ll see a menu pop up like below:
-
For the name, choose what you want. Like maybe Brave Search AI
-
Shortcut is what you want to type out to switch to it if you have another search engine as your default. Just put whatever you find is easy. For mine, I just did :bs but it can be anything.
-
For the URL, use
https://search.brave.com/search?q=%s&source=llmSuggest&summary=1
Once that’s saved, then choose Add
From there, it will show on the list of anything else you have under Site Search. You’ll see three dots on the right of it. Click it and you can choose to Made Default. Once you do that, anything you type in the address bar will always prompt the AI result. At least should work based on my testing.
But again, all depends on what you’re talking about
Because Google and other websites have AI as well. And I’m not sure if you’re speaking of the Answer With AI on Brave Search, speaking of Leo in the browser, or something else.
So it’s ALWAYS good to be specific about:
- What version of the browser you’re using
- Exactly which operating system you’re on (like Windows 11, Mac Ventura, etc)
- What website(s) you have issues with
- Specific steps you’re taking to encounter a problem, what happens, and what should happen
- Any troubleshooting steps you have tried
The search engine I am using is DuckDuckGo. Hope that helps!!!
I am using Windows 11 on a PC, my browser version is Brave 1.80.122 (Official Build) (64-bit)] and is the current version. I cannot remember all the steps I have done. Yes, I understand that some search do not yield AI results. It is ALL websites I am having issues with. Unless I missed something…
That last link I got seems to have resolved this issue: https://search.brave.com/, so I consider this items closed. Thanks to all who contributed to resolving this issue!
