A "better YouTube experience" and A "fast" browser

Clicking on the Brave pop-up ad promoting “YouTube on Brave,” you get a page with ad copy that refers to “A better YouTube experience,” and on the same page also promotes “Brave is also available as a fast. . . etc.,etc.” Whoever wrote that ad copy must be working remotely from their laptop on Mars – because that is most definitely NOT the real world experience on planet Earth. Brave USED to be fast. I’ve been with Brave since its very beginning, Moan days, when it really WAS fast, remarkably fast. It has become ever so incrementally slower over time, and some months ago started this thing, which I’ve seen many complain about on this forum, where you click on the URL line to enter an address or a search term, and it takes anywhere from 10 sec. to 30 sec. for Brave to respond to your mouse and actually allow ANY keyboard entry – not apparently being in the job description of anyone employed by Brave to do anything about this oft-reported issue; it takes excessively long for Brave to “wake up” and respond after no activity for even just a few minutes; at the beginning of the workday it can take 3-5 minutes from the time you double-click the Brave desktop icon until a Brave window actually shows up on the screen, and that on a very fast Spectrum Business internet connection; and too often throughout the business day “Brave (Not responding)” has become the norm rather than the exception. And ever since Brave a few months ago started promoting “A better YouTube experience,” the YouTube experience has gotten significantly WORSE on Brave than it previously was, which was generally just fine – both YouTube and then, consequently, the Brave browser consistently now locking up after watching maybe just a half dozen or so YouTube video clips and YouTube movies being blocked with a message saying something to the effect that “this movie will not play on your browser.” Either the good folks who write this “Fast” and “better experience” ad copy do not actually use Brave – or if they do use Brave, they are doing so on some other planet somewhere else in the universe.

what? thats not the case at all, i never clicked a link and it took more than 3 sec to open, check ur internet speed buddy

Sounds like it’s just you with this experience, sadly.

Here’s what I’d recommend:

  1. Go to speedtest.net and tell us what you internet speed is.
  2. Tell us if you use any VPN software.
  3. Tell us what Brave version you use and on what device you use it on.
  4. Does installing Brave Beta or Brave Nightly suddenly make your browsing miles faster than Brave release?

Correct me if I’m wrong but it sounds like you’re having a few issues in Brave!

All the issues you referenced can likely be resolved and I would be more than happy to assist you with resolving the issues you’re experiencing if you can simply start a thread in the appropriate section here on Community and include all the relevant data requested in the editor. This ensures we have as much of the information we might need to troubleshoot the issue as possible.
